Spotify has released a brand new app: Spotify for Artists. This app is the mobile version of its artist-centered dashboard client for tracking new music, updating profiles, and analyzing metrics about listeners.
Spotify’s product manager Miles Lennon describes the new app in detail with this blog post. Currently, the new Spotify for Artists app is only available on iOS, but an Android version will be coming soon. The app release focuses on three main components.
First, the new app allows artist to update their profile from anywhere, straight from the phone. Secondly, artists will be able to track new releases in real time. They can see play counts every time their content is streamed. Thirdly, the app offers more data on listeners – their gender and age breakdowns, where they’re listening from, and other relevant artists.
Verified artists will have access to the app. Check out the video below for more information.
