Introducing the New Dashboard on Repost by SoundCloud

Cøzybøy is prolific. The Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and producer had written 85 songs before he released his first under his performance name in 2017. Since then, he’s released a slew of tunes and, at present, is dropping a new one just about every week. In early February, his emotional, lo-fi pop tune “Off My Mind” gained steam on TikTok after Repost ran an influencer campaign on the social network. To date, it has appeared in over 150 videos and garnered over 1.3 million views.
For Cøzybøy the campaign showed him a different way that people could engage with his music. “My fans are a little on the subtle side sometimes,” he says by phone. “TikTok is a little bit more out there in the way people interact with music. That was really cool for me to see.”
What was interesting, too, he says, was that the ways in which TikTok users interacted with the video varied. “Each one was unique in its own way,” he says.
Previously, Cøzybøy had posted a few snippets from his songs on TikTok, as fans had requested that he do that, but hadn’t seen the kind of engagement that happened with Repost’s campaign for “Off My Mind.
It was Cøzybøy’s first release– the 67th song that he had written– that started building his online fanbase. At that time, he had simply posted the song to SoundCloud with a long, sexually explicit title and he says that it was probably that title that piqued the curiosity of listeners. They stuck around though. The tune, which he has also released with safe-for-work title “Undone,” remains one of his most popular. He has built followings on SoundCloud, Instagram and YouTube, the latter aided by the fact that he shoots and edits most of his own videos. He’s been leveling-up on Spotify as well. A recent collaboration with Aidan and Thomas Reid, “like crazy,” was his first to make it onto the streaming platform’s playlists.
