Introducing the New Dashboard on Repost by SoundCloud
May 30, 2022
SUBMIT YOUR MUSIC TO BE PART OF “I AM OTHER, VOLUME 2” CURATED BY SOUNDCLOUD X I AM OTHER
Last week, we released “i am OTHER, Volume 1” to showcase the outpouring of creativity that’s come out of the coronavirus pandemic, with net proceeds benefiting Sweet Relief and Help Musicians. If you missed the launch, you can listen, learn more and meet the artists featured here.
While we’re still elevating these artists and very relevant tracks, we realize today’s social climate has spurred the creation of more music that needs to be heard. So today we’re expanding the partnership with Pharrell and i am OTHER by opening up submissions for our next compilation project: “i am OTHER, Volume 2.”
With the continued vision to ignite what’s next in music and provide opportunities to be for fresh, new talent to be discovered, Volume 2 will feature another crop of emerging artists hand-picked by i am OTHER and SoundCloud. For Volume 2, we’re looking for original tracks that are inspired by the current moment and climate, with a focus on the themes of empowerment, unity and social justice. Think your music is a good fit? Check out the submission process below and what you get if you’re selected.
How to submit your track for “i am OTHER, Volume 2”
To celebrate the second compilation and elevate the important topic of social justice, SoundCloud collaborated with Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club brand on a limited edition t-shirt. All net proceeds will go to the New Virginia Majority Education Fund, a non-profit that builds power for social justice through year-round community organizing and voter mobilization in Virginia.
The design, by Dillon Sirimongkhon at BBC, features both brand logos, a pixelated globe and messaging that underscore SoundCloud and BBC’s shared belief in the universal healing power of music. You can get in on the presale beginning today at 12 p.m. EST.
“i am OTHER, Volume 2” will be available on SoundCloud and distributed to all streaming services via SoundCloud’s distribution and artist services offering, Repost Select, in October 2020. All net proceeds received from this project by SoundCloud and i am OTHER will go to charitable organizations advancing social justice.
